We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled candidate specializing in aerospace and/or powertrain components to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will own high level program plan for powertrain components, and be responsible for coordinating actions and priorities across multiple groups. This will include alignment of direct quality representatives as well as high touchpoint with design and supply chain partners. This candidate must be technically minded, highly organized, and comfortable presenting to all levels of internal partners and customers as well as managing strong relationships with vendors. They will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality throughout the product lifecycle of the aircraft. This includes overseeing design validation, supplier deliverables, manufacturing processes, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the delivery of a safe, reliable, and high-quality aircraft to own quality improvements across the Electric Propulsion Unit (EPU) program.
What you’ll do
- Work closely with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other departments to ensure smooth product transitions from design to production. Drive and implement solutions to quality-related issues
- Responsible for establishing and leading process quality for the purpose of improving process performance and owning defect resolution and statistical process control
- A collaborative attitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail with the ability to communicate and build cross-functional relationships
- Work with all levels of personnel and effectively interact with executives to inspectors
- Identify, lead, and support continuous improvement initiatives including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop and present reports summarizing quality performance, findings, and action plan closure.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to assess and act on the health of the quality system to drive continuous improvement
- Identify potential risks and work with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and develop contingency plans
- Develop and support the training of team members and other stakeholders on quality standards, practices, and tools
- Assist in the planning and process for company inspection in support of FAA and Company conformity inspection and certification process
What you need
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) with at least 5+ years experience
- Experience creating and approving first article inspections with working knowledge of the tools required for inspection
- Experience with MES systems and developing routings and inspection plans
- Experience with CAD, PLM, and ERP software
- Experience with APQP - creating PPAPs, DFM, MSAs, FMEAs and SPC.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment in aerospace or other highly regulated environments
- Experience with design reviews including assessing the ability to verify dimensional requirements GD&T ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Knowledge of Quality Standards such as AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145, and AS6500.
Bonus qualifications
- Experience with SAP
- Experience developing real time dashboards using Sigma or other similar program
- Six Sigma Black/Green Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
- Working knowledge of electric engine manufacturing and testing processes
- EV/eVTOL knowledge or experience in Aerospace

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $150,120.00 - $166,800.00. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
