Job Overview:
As an EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) and Documentation Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and contribute to the overall safety and well-being of employees and the environment within an organization. You will support the EHS team in implementing and maintaining safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role will also work closely with the quality group and support the documentation on our official system. This internship will provide you with exposure to various EHS functions, best practices in documentation and help you develop skills and knowledge in the field. This is a temporary internship position that will run for 10 weeks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify hazards.
- Support incident investigations, including data collection and analysis.
- Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training programs.
- Create and update technical documents, such as user manuals and standard operating procedures.
- Organize and maintain document repositories for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Review and edit existing documentation for accuracy and consistency.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure technical accuracy.
- Support Quality lead with document review, upload and training documentation.
- Stay updated on industry best practices related to EHS
- Support environmental compliance activities including a wastewater project.
- Other activities related to QC like sample preparation, labeling, shipping etc.
- Other relevant ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related fields.
- Passion for environmental protection and occupational safety.
- Basic knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, such as OSHA and EPA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in technical writing principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with document management systems or other documentation tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other documentation software.
- Basic understanding of technical concepts and terminology.
Albany Hourly Range: $15.00-$17.00
