About the company:

General Matter, Inc. is an American nuclear energy company based in California that is focused on developing domestic nuclear energy solutions. The company aims to harness nuclear technology to increase national energy prosperity, reduce dependence on foreign energy sources, and support the expansion of American capabilities in the energy sector. Their work centers on making nuclear energy more accessible and practical by advancing technologies that can be developed and deployed within the United States. General Matter's mission is rooted in the belief that nuclear power represents a critical pathway toward a cleaner, more energy-independent future. By turning domestic nuclear potential into operational reality, the company positions itself at the intersection of national security, economic growth, and climate-conscious energy production. Their approach emphasizes building nuclear energy infrastructure that is homegrown rather than reliant on foreign supply chains or expertise. The company brings together leaders from nuclear engineering, technology, government, and finance, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to solving the complex challenges of modern nuclear energy development. As a startup operating in the green and climate technology sector, General Matter represents a new wave of private investment in nuclear energy as a viable and scalable low-carbon power source for the United States.

About the Company

General Matter is enriching uranium in America.

Our goal is to design, build, and operate the world’s lowest-cost enrichment services in the United States.

Our mission is to restore America’s ability to produce nuclear fuel—fuel that will power AI, advanced manufacturing, critical industries, and the next generation of nuclear reactors.

Ultimately, our work will help power national ambitions and enable a high-energy society.

We were incubated by Founders Fund, like Anduril and Palantir before us, and are backed by top-tier investors. Our lean, world-class team of engineers and operators is applying a first-principles approach to solving the problem of nuclear fuel production.

We are a mission-driven company with a culture of urgency, accountability, and transparency.

Help us build a high-energy society by making the cleanest, safest form of baseload energy the most affordable.

About This Role

As an Enterprise Systems Architect, you will design the enterprise systems architecture that runs our business across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, engineering, and finance: the applications, integrations, data flows, and hosting that connect our ERP, MES, QMS, PLM/PDM, procurement, HRIS, and analytics landscape. Reporting to the Enterprise Systems Manager, you will be the senior technical design authority for how these systems fit together, scale, and stay secure, and you will define the target architecture that our integration engineers and administrators build to.

You will work across every department that depends on these platforms, alongside the Senior Technical Program Manager and external implementation partners, turning operational requirements into system architecture, data models, and integration designs. A central part of the role is designing where each system and data set is hosted and how data moves between environments of differing sensitivity, so the portfolio stays compliant as it scales. It is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of systems architecture, operations, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise systems architecture across applications, integrations, data flows, and automation, and lead architecture decisions across ERP, MRP, MES, QMS, PLM/PDM, CRM, HRIS, procurement, finance, analytics, and identity systems.
  • Lead the technical evaluation for enterprise system and ERP selection with the Senior Technical Program Manager, running vendor due diligence and defining the target integration architecture and technical implementation approach.
  • Design scalable integrations and data flows across the portfolio (ERP, MES, QMS, PLM/PDM, WMS, procurement, finance, and reporting) using APIs and ETL/ELT patterns, and translate operational requirements into workflows, data models, and interface specifications.
  • Own the data architecture, including system-of-record and master-data ownership per domain, data governance, and data quality, so the business runs on one trusted, authoritative source for each data domain.
  • Design the hosting and data-movement architecture across environments of differing data sensitivity, defining where each system and data set lives and how data crosses between controlled and uncontrolled environments, and establish standards for configuration, access control, documentation, and change management with Security and Compliance.
  • Translate the multi-year enterprise systems roadmap owned by the Enterprise Systems Manager into target-state architecture, identify technical risk, dependencies, and technical debt with mitigation plans, and guide the integration engineers, administrators, and analysts who build to the architecture.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years in enterprise systems, IT architecture, or systems integration, including a lead or architect role on complex, cross-functional implementations.
  • Led or architected at least one full-cycle ERP implementation, from selection through integration, migration, and go-live.
  • Experience architecting and integrating enterprise platforms such as ERP, MRP, MES, QMS, PLM/PDM, procurement, supply chain, finance, analytics, HRIS, or CRM.
  • Experience designing integrations across enterprise systems using APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, and custom frameworks, with strong data-modeling fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, master data management, and system-of-record design across a multi-system portfolio.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise security, identity and access management, role-based access control, and SSO, and of designing system hosting and data movement across environments of differing data sensitivity.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, and quality processes such as production planning, inventory, traceability, CAPA, and supplier quality, with strong documentation and communication skills and experience leading cross-functional technical projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, Coupa, Arena, or Teamcenter.
  • Experience architecting a broad enterprise portfolio spanning ERP, MES, QMS, PLM/PDM, WMS, procurement, analytics, identity, and collaboration systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS including GovCloud, Azure, or Google Cloud, and with data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics platforms.
  • Experience architecting systems that separate controlled from uncontrolled data, or designing for regulated or government-cloud hosting environments.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, medical device, automotive, or nuclear, and familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 9001, AS9100, 21 CFR Part 11, SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NQA-1.
  • Relevant certifications in enterprise architecture, cloud, or security, such as TOGAF or comparable cloud and security certifications.

Additional Requirements

  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Based in Los Angeles, CA, and onsite full-time; hybrid and remote work will not be considered.
