ICON is looking for an Engineering Technician to design, prototype, and fabricate various components of our 3D printing systems that are revolutionizing the construction technology industry. This role will be based in our Austin, TX lab. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build prototypes of engineered products or equipment.
  • Assist in the design and engineering of Mechanical and Electrical products and equipment.
  • Inspects product design and is capable of identifying and resolving problems or errors.
  • Provides suggestions for ways to improve products and equipment.
  • Conducts regular maintenance on products and equipment.
  • Orders and replaces equipment parts.
  • Ensures that all safety procedures are observed during laboratory work.
  • Must be willing to perform a wide range of tasks on a daily basis (e.g. Transition from office work to field work). 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of professional work experience as an Engineering Mechanical and Electrical Technician.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of component manufacturing processes.
  • Rapid prototyping experience including operating.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read 2D drawings and interpret 3D CAD.
  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
  • Adept at communicating in a collaborative team environment and seeking optimum solutions with other team members.
  • A service-oriented attitude when in a support role.
  • Ability to prioritize and stay cool in a dynamic start-up environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
