ICON is seeking an Engineering Process Improvement Lead who will be responsible for identifying and implementing ways to improve the efficiency of engineering processes by working with a team of individuals from various departments who all have a stake in the success of the company’s overall operations. The Engineering Process Improvement Lead will be tasked with developing new engineering processes and procedures, analyzing current processes and procedures, identifying areas where improvements can be made, and developing new systems or strategies to implement those changes in support of ICON’s mission of making dignified housing accessible to everyone and advance humanity with our technology. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and will report to the Director of Hardware in the Mechanical Engineering department. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop new engineering processes aimed at defining the way we work with velocity.
  • Review data from previous projects to capture lessons learned for continuous improvement and perform analysis to identify efficiency gains.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate employees on new processes or technologies so they can apply them in their daily work activities.
  • Use computer software such as Six Sigma and Data Analytics to monitor progress and identify potential problems in real-time.
  • Analyze data in order to identify opportunities for improvement within our processes.
  • Coordinate with members of management staff to develop strategies for process improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct research on best practices in other industries to identify opportunities for improvement within one’s own industry.
  • Develop new operating processes and procedures aimed at improving our efficiency.
  • Develop monthly reports and deliver to the Director of Hardware the overall performance of engineering process improvements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve overall efficiency.
  • Develop planning methodologies and track performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of working experience in process and procedure implementation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Business or another related field.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the year.
