Your Role and Your Team:

As Engineering Manager - Data & Instrumentation, you will be working in our exciting Flight Test Team, reporting directly to the Head of Data and Instrumentation, and aiding in building up the flight test infrastructure here at Lilium.

You will be responsible for leading our talented Instrumentation Engineers, driving the FTI System Design, Installation and Operation processes, based on internal defined requirements, aiming at improving our infrastructure for running and operating Flight Test processes.

Your Day to Day:
•    Lead the technical and operational activities related to instrumentation specifications, including sensors selection, design of installation and wiring diagrams, sensors calibration, signal conditioning, parameters tapping, data validation, tracking and recording documentation and conformity
•    Communicate with different Engineering teams to define appropriate instrumentation requirements
•    Provide adequate management of calibration processes and procedures related to sensors and equipment calibration for Flight Test purposes
•    Contribute to Flight Test SW Solutions architecture definition, mainly to the Flight-Test Instrumentation department for data acquisition and configuration control, in accordance with Data and Instrumentation division requirements
•    Participate in requirements capture and validation process
•    Work on reviews and data analyses
•    Lead the actions to improve the Instrumentation process and quality.

Your Profile: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in electrical-, electronics-, aerospace engineering or similar;
•    5+ years of experience in a test environment
•    Experience with data processing and analysis
•    Experience with Part 21 certification process for FTI installations (§21.39)
•    Experience with aviation-standard data buses like Arinc 429, Arinc 664 (AFDX), CAN Bus and STANAG 4586 is mandatory
•    Good knowledge about ISO-17025 standard is required, DO-178C is a plus
•    CAD software experience or self-driven SW development are beneficial
•    Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required
•    High level of self-confidence, with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
•    Fluent English language skills are essential, German language skills would be beneficial
