Maintain a good working relationship with employees, other departments (Paint, Body, Quality &amp; TO), corporate engineering and the supplier community.</div> <div class="textLayer">&nbsp;</div> <p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p> </div> <div class="p-pdf_iframe__page" data-page-number="2"> <div class="textLayer"> <ul> <li>Plans and directs all process engineering activities and personnel within the plant</li> <li>Ensures proper and effective support of new product launches by the manufacturing engineering department staff</li> <li>Leads and coordinates the daily activities of the Charging &amp; Adventure Products Area, Interfaces with Advanced Manufacturing and Maintenance Groups</li> <li>Helps to develop plant layouts and materials/product flow plans via internal and/or external sources</li> <li>Assists in the preparation of Process Failure Mode and Effect Analyses (PFMEA), Process Design Sheets, Process Flow Diagrams, and other Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities</li> <li>Leads and/or participates in all continuous improvement activities within area of responsibility, and ensures participation of direct reports these activities, as needed</li> <li>Evaluates departmental training needs, schedules employees for training, and ensures their attendance of both local and outside seminars, as required</li> <li>Develops annual department goals in support of Rivian’s stated corporate goals, and reviews and follows-up on the status of achieving these goals</li> <li>Ensures the on-time delivery of all equipment necessary to support new product launches</li> <li>Maintains open lines of communications with, and serves as a liaison between corporate staff, plant personnel, customers, and suppliers <br>regarding new product launches and production issues</li> <li>Manages overall departmental budgets and operations within the department per company set goals</li> <li>Supervises and manages 7-10 salary direct reports and&nbsp;8-10 indirect hourly reports</li> <li>Performs all other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.<br>• APQP (Design for Quality)<br>• Problem solving experience – 8D method<br>• Manufacturing/assembly process experience <br>• PPAP documents<br>• PFMEA<br>• Control plan<br>• MSA<br>• CAD experience (Catia preferred)<br>• Statistical process control / control charts<br>• Data analytics software skills; ex.
