We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.</span></p></div><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage the battery pack mechanical engineering team responsible for the structural, electrical, and thermal performance of Archer’s energy and power dense ESS in our FAA type certified eVTOL airtaxi</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Create detailed technology roadmaps and project schedules to ensure development stays on track with aircraft level design, build, and test milestones</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Be the subject matter expert on battery pack mechanical stiffness and strength, electrical-thermal management, and junction box design.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage day-to-day tasks of direct headcount as well as contractor and external suppliers as needed.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ensure the battery pack mechanical engineering team is resourced to hit project milestones without delay</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work with the air vehicle structures team to efficiently integrate the battery pack into Archer’s aircraft.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work directly with the BMS and integration teams to ensure electrical interface requirements are met.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work with supply chain to secure prototype parts procurement and ensure a smooth transition to mass production</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ensure compliance as applicable with DO-160, ARP4754, and etc.</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Need</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">10+ years experience developing battery packs for high voltage electric powertrains</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">BS or MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Technical expert in mechanical engineering topics such as stress/strain, material selection, fluid heat exchangers, DFM, fastening systems, and etc.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Active user of NX or CATIA</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes such as stamping, injection molding, machining, welding</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Demonstrated track record of successful launches of battery packs into mass production</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Working knowledge of aerospace mechanical design standards and IEC, ISO, UL, and electric vehicle regulatory standards.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with thermal runaway of lithium ion battery systems (cell, module, pack level) including propagation resistance and venting systems</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Knowledge of aerospace and electric vehicle supply base</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with vehicle packaging, assembly, and serviceability requirements</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Excellent organizational and communication skills, and a servant leader mentality</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Direct experience designing for 850V DC systems</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">eVTOL HV battery experience</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">FAA certification experience</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Pilot experience</span></li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><h5><span style="font-weight: 400;">Archer is proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
