ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and analytical minded individual to join our team as a Enclosure Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for design & development of Fluence’s energy storage products, focusing on the mechanical perspective. An ideal candidate will have a broad mechanical engineering background as well as strong proficiency in CAD & PLM tools and have ability to tackle difficult engineering problems. Experience in Enclosure / cabinet structures, cooling systems, both air cooling and liquid cooling, is also beneficial. The candidate needs to have a strong engineering skill listed below.
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop parametric 3D CAD models in PTC Creo for new enclosure designs, generate engineering drawings, bill of materials, technical specifications, related data in conjunction with Fluence battery enclosure design.
•Highly experienced with solid model design software preferably CREO 8.0 or above and manage changes on large assembly CAD data within PLM software.
•Strong experience in mechanical system design – sheet metal components, weldment design, plastic mould component and standard elements/parts.
•Proficient in creating detailed manufacturing drawings for components and assemblies by utilizing excellent GD&T skills and tolerance stack-up analysis.
•Experience in product development from the concept stage through prototyping, final design, and manufacturing
•Support and provide engineering improvement feedback on design, material selection, cost out design, failure implications and problem resolutions.
•Ensure product design standards are adhered to common international standards, such as ANSI/ISO/ASME.
•Collaborate with cross functional teams including Program Management, Electrical Engineering, Logistics, Procurement and Manufacturing Engineering on ensuring successful deployments of Fluence products in large-scale energy storage projects.
•Present design solutions to key stakeholders, defending design decisions, incorporating design feedback into the design cycle.
