Intern, Embedded and Platform Software, Test Engineer – Spring 2023

Location: Newark, CA

We are currently seeking an intern, Embedded and Platform Software.  This position requires an experienced professional with an understanding of embedded programming and a passion for EV’s. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. 

Role/Responsibilities: 

Participation in development of platform software (low level and middleware) components for electronic control units.  

Contribution to development of highly reliable and critical electric vehicle components. 

Prepare technical documentation that supports software development. 

Follow and improve best practices and internal processes. 

Learn and contribute to automotive software development lifecycle. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience using embedded programming, such as C. 

Understanding of software development for embedded devices or microcontrollers. 

Familiarity with real-time operating systems. 

Experience with software and hardware troubleshooting. 

Nice to have: 

Experience with networking automotive protocols, such as CAN or LIN. 

Experience in the field of automotive software development. 

Familiarity with AUTOSTAR stack and configuration tools. 

Education: 

Field(s) of study: Embedded Systems, Computer Science or related fields 

Will consider undergrads Junior level or above: Pursuing Bachelor’s or master's degree 

Graduated eligible for this internship up to 12 months after graduation 

Program Timing: 

Start Date: Jan 2023 

End Date: May 2023

Our internship program is 12-16 weeks; end date is flexible based on individual needs. 

Some flexibility with the start date is available as needed. 

Other: 

Location: This position is in Newark. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. 

Availability: Full-time or part-time

Anticipated Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm 

Work Environment: Mix of Lab, Office and Bay. 

Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable. 

Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S employment authorization. 

Medical Benefits: Dental and vision on day 1 for all interns working 30+ hours a week; medical for interns in California working 30+ hours a week. 

Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area. 

Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
