Your role and your team:

We are looking for an outstanding Electrical Power System Certification Engineer to join our innovative team that will shape the future of urban e-mobility.
This position will contribute, as part of an integrated product team, to the electrical power system development on the Lilium Jet – with a specific focus on certification. This position will be the product team’s main point of contact with Lilium’s Office of Airworthiness.

Your Day to Day:

  • Interpret airworthiness requirements and advise the development teams in all matters related to airworthiness and certification. Assist the development engineers with application of the applicable airworthiness requirements.
  • Represent the company in certification discussions with authorities, as well as taking part in international working groups and committees. Interface with safety agencies in various areas such as aircraft certification, development of mean of compliance, regulatory changes, flight standards, inspections and continued airworthiness.
  • Generate certification packages and manage their delivery to regulatory authorities to achieve product and type design certification. Develop and maintain the Electrical Power System Certification Plan.
  • Coordinate project certification activities as required. Plan and manage detailed compliance demonstration activities.

 Your Profile:

  • MSc./Eng. or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
  • 5 years of professional experience in the certification process of aerospace using ARP4754A.
  • Previous experience in the creation of certification procedures in line with regulatory requirements or Engineering Quality standards.
  • In depth knowledge of EASA and FAA airworthiness and environmental requirements. Previous experience of working with rulemaking associations including EUROCAE, ASTM, GAMA, SAE.
  • Experience in capture tools, such as Siemens Polarion or IBM Rational Doors would be advantageous.
  • Strong motivation to help build structures and processes.
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously.
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills are required.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
