What you will bring to ChargePoint

The Director of Product Quality will provide leadership, operational excellence in execution and strategic direction our product quality organization.  Be the lead voice and advocates of customer and operator for our core lines of products and services.  Work closely with cross functional leaders in product management, sales product design, system engineering, regulatory/compliance, customer support, product operations and supply chain teams to ensure the product represents and supports the very best of the ChargePoint brand.  Successful candidate at ChargePoint must be highly motivated, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Undisputed voice for operations and our customers.
  • Develop, lead and scale an industry leading quality team including quality controls and processes, quality engineering, quality assurance and quality systems
  • Establish quality initiatives and program that ensures class leading solution to accelerate our fleet, commercial and consumer base lines of business support and management
  • Directs and lead all aspects of the quality planning processes; participates in strategic and tactical planning processes that balances budgetary and resource allocation
  • Develops strategies to ensure safe and efficient operations of our product lines
  • Lead Risk Management and Mitigation initiatives
  • Lead communication and report regularly to management and key internal / external stakeholders on key quality systems, metrics, and customer focus areas
  • Maintain and ensure there are no significant interruptions to the business due to quality or compliance/regulatory issues
  • Establish and scale our quality capabilities to appropriately manage our ever growing supply chain to ensure we have a robust and closed loop process to effectively handle product, part and service issue and disruptions.
  • Establish and develop advance quality activities such as: DFM, vendor selection, establishing quality criteria and goals, FMEA/PFMEA, and defining validation and reliability test requirements
  • Manage and scale up our world wide quality and process audits of new and current suppliers
  • Establish class-leading field failure analysis and capabilities with our worldwide network of users, supplier, resellers and service providers.
  • Establish class-leading vendor development/management/monitoring to support our worldwide supply chain and fulfillment network.
  • Establish with our suppliers a comprehensive dashboard that will actively collect, extrapolate and analyze quality and manufacturing yield data.
  • Present this data at cross functional forums and meetings.
  • Work with suppliers, vendors and partners to define and implement robust incoming, in-process and out-going quality control processes
  • Collaborates across ChargePoint’s internal and external organization across functional groups and geographic locations. This includes but not limited to customers, partners, suppliers and executive management.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Minimum B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering related field
  • Minimum 12-15 years’ experience working in mfg. engineering, test engineering and/or quality management and systems and power electronics roles
  • Solid knowledge of stand-alone to multi-unit system manufacturing and field integration concepts and methodologies.
  • Experience in developing and implementing scaled solutions to adequately support measurement and inspection processes, tools, fixtures, and gages at our various tiers of supply chain and associated quality requirement to work in concert and in a seamless fashion.
  • Solid understanding of and experience applying problem solving tools including root cause analysis, statistical tools and processes, and design of experiments.
  • Ability to clearly summarize quality data and trends and to create reports and presentations for all levels of internal and external audiences.
  • Able to establish product and platform level solutions and guidelines while guiding the team from the ground up
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma programs and Statistical Quality Control processes and systems.

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $147,000 to $224,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
