Director of Electrical Engineering

ICON is looking for a Director of Electrical Engineering  to lead the electrical engineering vertical in guiding and advancing our product within ICON’s growing organization. As the Director of Electrical Engineering at ICON, you will be responsible for providing leadership to ensure electrical engineering subject matter, technical deliverables, building and infrastructure projects and programs are delivered. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and will report to the VP of Control Systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to develop and guide the strategic roadmap for the electrical engineering organization as well as all necessary cross-functional collaboration 
• Responsible for innovation and administration
• Provides leadership to ensure electrical engineering subject matter, technical deliverables, building and infrastructure projects and programs are delivered
• Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the electrical engineering discipline and function, offering direction, expertise, and support
• Support the overall long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of electrical Engineering work

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution at a utility, industrial, or commercial scale.
• Highly proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, process.
• Highly proficient with electrical design as it relates to robotics and automation.
• Highly proficient with making technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to our robots in relation to our job sites.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills when interacting with others including the ability to express intricate ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
• Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully communicate with senior leadership, employees and both internal and external stakeholders.
• Able to travel occasionally as required.
