We are currently seeking a Director of Construction to help lead our retail development group responsible for the launch of new luxury automotive retail showrooms and service centers throughout the Asia Pacific region.  Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. You will

  • Develop, build and grow a new international construction team, initially reporting into the Global Retail Development lead 
  • Create, benchmark, and validate project budgets – while maintaining a database of historic spend 
  • Forecast, request and manage annual department spending limits 
  • Manage new and existing project schedules, identifying areas for overlap and improvement 
  • Work with and lead the Development team in drafting annual expansion plans 
  • Establish an entirely new vendor base for the company in the APAC region 
  • Implement a pre-construction analysis process to identify areas of value in early project stages 
  • Lead all store construction activities for the company 
  • You bring

  • 15+ years of retail, luxury, or hospitality construction leadership experience, of which a minimum of 5 years in a director’s capacity
  • Prior people management experience including strong competencies in talent identification and development, coaching, mentoring, and strong self awareness and emotional intelligence required
  • Prior experience in a corporate, multi-cultural organization preferred
  • Expertise in sourcing General Contractors, Sub-contractors and specialty fabricators 
  • Experience building internal and outsourced project management teams 
  • Working knowledge of custom fixture fabricators and their fabrication processes 
  • Experience with high voltage power systems 
  • Experience with automotive service equipment is a plus 
  • A proven track record of delivering projects on time and on schedule.  
  • Experience with automotive franchise, understanding what can be constructed, staffed and operated throughout the APAC region. 
  • Minimum 4-year university degree (e.g. Bachelor's), subject area: architecture, engineering, construction management or related field required
