Director, Learning & Development

ICON is looking for a Director of Learning & Development to establish and grow the  training and development function on behalf  of ICON’s growing team. As ICON’s Director of Learning & Development, you will support the creation and management of a company-wide learning strategy that aligns with the goals of the organization. You’ll work with key stakeholders throughout the organization and develop trainings strategies and learning initiatives that meet the needs of functional stakeholders, address various adult learning styles and generate measurable results. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX lab and will report to the Chief People Officer on ICON’s People team. This role will supervise a Learning & Development Specialist.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Determine learning strategy and goals for the organization and set key deliverables for the Learning & Development function. 
• Work with key cross-functional partners to develop and manage various learning programs and strategies. 
• Oversee the administration of ICON’s Learning Management System (LMS).
• Lead the RFP and selection processes for external training resources.
• Oversee the facilitation of learning programs and workshops. 
• Develop departmental content for both technical and non-technical subject matter into employee-facing training resources with a focus on content development for various learning styles. 
• Evaluate current and future training programs and partnerships to determine return on investment. 
• Measure and report on the success of all learning and training initiatives. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of learning and development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on project and program design.
• Prior experience facilitating training for adult learners.
• Deep understanding of adult learning theory.
• Ability to work with leaders at all levels of the organization to provide excellent internal customer-service and to understand and address all training and development needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize in order to meet deadlines.
• Strong presentation and training facilitation skills.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of learning and development methods and best practices.
• Excellent knowledge and ability to synthesize data into meaningful presentations.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Academic background in industrial organizational psychology preferred. 
• Data analytics and visualization preferred.
