About the Role

We are looking for a self-motivated, responsible person to fill a part-time Delivery & Logistics Associate, riding our electric assist trikes with a cargo trailer.  You will be the face of our company and interact with our customers and the community on a regular basis, with delivery routes on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This is a physically demanding job, so you must be experienced in year-round urban cycling in all weather conditions.

 On occasion, the Delivery & Logistics Associate will need to drive a car or van, provided by Square Roots, to ensure deliveries during periods of maintenance or in extreme weather conditions. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record is required for this position. This position will require two shifts a week (Wednesdays, Saturdays and occsasional Fridays) for approximately 10-12 total hours on delivery routes. 

You will be responsible for communicating any en-route issues or comments that occur thoughout your route.

You will: 

• Ensure all orders are packed correctly and matched against their invoice"
• Ensure all deliveries are made within a timely manner, all year round
• Maintain relationships with our retail customers at the point of delivery
• Collect signatures from all deliveries for our records
• Ensure  food safety is top of mind for all deliveries
• Receive product feedback and communciate that to the sales team

You have experience with:

• Customer service
• Year round urban cycling experience in all weather conditions a must
• Urban cycling experience with front load cargo bin is a big plus
• Communicating through Slack, Discord, or similar  text-based app on your smartphone throughout a shift

You are:

• Available starting at 8am on Wednesday & Saturdays.
• The owner of a cell phone with internet access (stipend to offset cell phone data will be provided)
• Serious about COVID-19 safety and comfortable wearing a mask while on the job
• Experienced with delivery or bike messenger work (a plus)
• The holder of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no moving violations or at-fault accidents within the last 2 years)
• Spanish speaking (a big plus)
• Great with followthrough
• Interested in real, local food and urban farming (a huge plus)
• Values-aligned
• A proactive communicator who is comfortable using a smartphone/ tablet and using apps to keep your manager and team informed.
• A team player with a positive attitude.
• Well-organized and detail oriented.
• Able to work independently and manage your time effectively

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy:

New employees are required to be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. The definition of fully vaccinated includes a booster for those that are eligible.

You are considered fully vaccinated if: 

• You have received a full series of the vaccine recently (meaning 2 doses within 5 months for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, or 1 dose within 2 months for Johnson and Johnson). 
• You received your full series over 5 months ago for Pfizer and Moderna or over 2 months ago for Johnson and Johnson, and have also received a booster shot. 

Proof of vaccination is required during the hiring process, and employees will be required to get booster shots as they become eligible to maintain their fully-vaccinated status.  

As federal guidance on booster shots evolves, the definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ may change.

The starting pay rate for this role is exactly $25.50, with room to grow over time.
