Carbmee is an enterprise environmental intelligence software company that provides a comprehensive platform enabling large manufacturers and complex supply chain operators to track, manage, and reduce their carbon emissions and broader environmental impact. The company's flagship product, carbmee EIS (Environmental Intelligence System), integrates data across procurement, operations, finance, and supplier management to make carbon emissions traceable, auditable, and actionable from the bill of materials level up to executive reporting. Carbmee supports key regulatory compliance frameworks including CBAM, CSRD, and EUDR, as well as dynamic product carbon footprint calculations and digital battery passport functionality.
Intro
At carbmee, data is not a byproduct: it is the product. As a Forward Deployed Engineer on our Data & AI track, you are the technical vanguard of our mission, deployed directly inside the world's largest industrial enterprises to turn fragmented supply chain data into product-level carbon intelligence. You'll design AI-powered pipelines on carbmee EIS™, fine-tune models against messy real-world enterprise data, and own the technical journey from first prototype to production-grade deployment, and then stand in front of the customer and explain why it matters.
You'll pivot daily between hands-on Python/SQL work and C-level conversations, with direct visibility into how your models change what gets built, sourced, and sold.
Your tasks
- Own end-to-end data and AI workstreams within enterprise customer deployments - from data discovery and architecture design through to live, production-grade pipelines on carbmee EIS™.
- Engage directly with customer data, IT, and sustainability teams to understand their data environments, ERP structures, and emissions reporting needs, and design scalable integration and modelling solutions.
- Build and deploy AI-powered pipelines for supplier emissions data collection, product carbon footprint calculation, spend-based estimation, and Scope 3 data quality improvement.
- Develop and fine-tune machine learning models and LLM-based workflows to enhance emissions data coverage, accuracy, and inference at scale.
- Integrate carbmee EIS™ with ERP systems (especially SAP), procurement platforms, and third-party data sources via APIs, data pipelines, and custom scripts (Python, SQL).
- Transform and prepare complex, messy enterprise datasets for integration, ensuring consistency and alignment with carbmee's data model.
- Translate complex model outputs and data analyses into clear, executive-ready insights that drive decarbonization decisions.
- Feed data and AI learnings back to carbmee's product engineering team to continuously improve the intelligence capabilities of the EIS™ platform.
Customer Value - As a Data & AI Consultant, your work directly determines how accurately and quickly customers can see, understand, and act on their emissions data. You will:
- Accelerate customers' time-to-insight by turning fragmented, siloed enterprise data into a clean, reliable foundation for carbon accounting.
- Expand emissions data coverage by using AI and machine learning to fill supplier data gaps, improve estimation quality, and surface signals that manual processes miss entirely.
- Enable data-driven decarbonization by connecting the right datasets - procurement, logistics, production - into the actionable intelligence customers need to make real reduction decisions.
- Build lasting data credibility with customer technical teams, ensuring carbmee EIS™ becomes trusted infrastructure - not just another analytics tool.
- You are the person who makes carbmee's AI actually work in the real world.
Your profile
- Strong data engineering foundation - Python, SQL, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), ETL pipelines, and data modelling.
- A degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a comparable quantitative field — from a top technical university with an outstanding academic record.
- Experience with machine learning, LLMs, or applied AI in a production context - building things that ship, not just things that work in a notebook.
- Comfort working with messy, real-world enterprise data — and the tenacity to clean, model, and make it usable.
- We hire across all levels - from analytically strong graduates ready to learn fast, to senior data scientists and ML engineers with deep production experience.
- Understanding of ERP systems (especially SAP) and how enterprise data structures connect to business processes is a strong plus.
- A clear pull toward fast-paced, high-ownership environments over traditional corporate tracks.
- Ability to work effectively with both engineering teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; German is a plus.
- Passion for sustainability - motivated by the idea that the best data work you do will help decarbonize global industry.
