We seek a talented and experienced Network Systems Engineer with specialized expertise in OT (Operational Technology) network and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) support. As a Network Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust and secure network infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and integrity of our critical industrial control systems. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of OT network architecture, SCADA protocols, and cybersecurity practices in industrial environments.

You will be working onsite in the Natick, MA office and report into the Director of IT. 

Responsibilities

  1. Network Design and Implementation
    • Design and implement resilient and secure network architectures, considering network segmentation, VLANs, firewall rules, and access controls.
    • Collaborate with corporate and OT stakeholders to define system requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
    • Configure and maintain networking devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  2. Data Center and Cloud Management
    • Participate in managing data center technologies including VMware, Windows, and Linux solutions.
    • Participate in managing cloud technologies including Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS.
    • Help architect and deliver identity management and directory services.
    • Implement and maintain data protection, backup, and business continuity measures.
  3. OT and SCADA Systems Support
    • Install, configure, and troubleshoot SCADA systems, including human-machine interfaces (HMIs), data historians, and remote terminal units (RTUs).
    • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of SCADA systems.
    • Work with the IT team, engineering teams, and customers to architect integrated identity management and security solutions.
  4. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configuration details, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
    • Share knowledge and train IT and engineering teams on OT network infrastructure, SCADA systems, and data management practices.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 6+ years of experience
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting corporate and OT network infrastructure.
  • Understanding cybersecurity principles and best practices in OT environments, including network segmentation, intrusion detection, and access controls.
  • Experience with network devices like industrial switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-82, IEC 62443) related to OT security.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in architecting complex zero-trust networks.
  • Software development, DevOps, and DevSecOps experience.
  • Database administration and data management skills.
  • Experience with power grid control technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of OT network protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC), industrial Ethernet (e.g., Ethernet/IP, PROFINET), and SCADA architectures.
  • Professional certifications such as GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) - desirable.

$120,000$140,000 USD

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
