We are looking for a Continued Airworthiness Engineer who will:

Reporting to the Prototype Build Manager, we are looking for an Aircraft Continued Airworthiness Engineer to join our aircraft build & maintenance team here at Vertical. The role will be responsible for tracking and upkeep of all CAW records and  to assist the Build Manager in managing continued airworthiness activities for the current prototype and subsequent aircraft. The successful candidate will also help to develop this side of the business as the fleet expands. Flexible working is available with a preferred 2 days on site in either Bristol or Kemble located facility depending on where work is taking place.

The responsibilities and duties of the Continued Airworthiness Engineer will be as follows:

  • Track aircraft usage and plan maintenance work scope accordingly
  • Manage work orders and raise maintenance work cards – scheduled and unscheduled
  • Define and carry out Continued Airworthiness aircraft and documentation inspections/reviews
  • Custodian of Continued Airworthiness Documentation such as:
    • Upkeep of Technical Log records
    • Upkeep/archive of mx workpack documentation
    • Upkeep of Rotable Part Change Log
    • Upkeep of Rotable Part log books/cards
    • Own/fully define aircraft robbery procedure
  • Assist QA Engineers with root cause analysis and corrective actions on mx issues/defects as required.
  • Custodian of AMM incl:
    • Manage aircraft maintenance manual, and future ICA, updates/revisions
    • Assist design teams with exporting their CAW data for ICA inclusion.
    • Assist further development of Continued Airworthiness training for VA design and engineering staff
  • Assist airworthiness dept with DOA/POA process as required
  • Assist in developing trend monitoring analysis
  • Assist in developing AHM/reliability systems
  • Proactively drive resolution of any Continued Airworthiness blockers to technicians workload.
  • Escalate problems / issues to Build Manager if unresolvable at team level.

 

The successful Continued Airworthiness Engineer will have the following Experiences & Qualifications:

  • Will have extensive experience as a CAMO engineer, Tech Records Administrator or Aircraft Maintenance Planner in an aircraft maintenance organisation.
  • Should have good IT skills and be proficient in an AMO documentation software as well as Microsoft Office package
  • Should have good attention to detail and can operate to challenging deadlines without compromising standards or quality.
  • Should demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities and always willing to lend a hand where needed throughout the business and across different teams.
  • Would benefit from having an excellent working knowledge of aircraft production and/or maintenance including documentation, manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Would benefit from exhibiting leadership abilities and programme management knowledge but not essential
  • Given the challenging nature of this opportunity, it will be important that they are able to work well in a growing team and demonstrate initiative to resolve unique technical problems whilst operating in a fast paced and ever changing environment.

 

Basic Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience in CAMO or Tech Records roles.
  • Accredited aerospace engineering qualification would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience in aircraft maintenance or overhaul environments would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence.
