About the role
As a critical member of the Customer Delivery & Execution Team, the Site Superintendent will oversee the construction process and be responsible for overall construction activities with the established design, budget, and scheduling guidelines.  This can include planning and scheduling, organizing, directing and controlling activities on the construction site. Construction superintendents monitor projects from planning to completion, including tasks such as budgeting and scheduling. They follow quality standards and ensure the safety and security of the construction site. A construction superintendent also communicates and may negotiate with external partners, such as suppliers, vendors and subcontractors as directed by the Construction Manager.  This will include crew size and capital construction requirements to achieve commissioning target dates.  As the project progresses you and other team members will adjust for delivery of incoming construction material and work with Procurement on our supplier deliveries to support the overall project schedule.

What you will do

  • Keep track of project progress
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and quality standards.
  • Purchase equipment and materials.
  • Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs. 
  •  Set performance goals and deadlines.
  • Plan construction processes.
  • Estimate costs and ensure the project is on budget.
  • Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback. 
  • Monitor and report on project progress.
  • Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities.
  • Implement safety and quality guidelines.
  • Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance.
  • Keep track of material stock and orders.
  • Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly.
  • Resolve on-site issues and emergencies.
  • Basic Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job site
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
  • Familiarity with CAD software
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to lead and inspire
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High School Education or equivalent
  • 10+ years of practical experience in planning and execution of large construction projects consisting of capital, mechanical, or electrical projects.  
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or similar field.
  • Renewable energy and/or battery storage project experience preferred.
  • Excellent people management skills and ability to balance multiple responsibilities and timelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in effective communication of program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiating options.
  • Ability to travel and live near client sites for extended periods of time.
  • Comfort in fast-paced, rapid growth environments.
  • Experience in public companies is a plus.
