ICON is seeking a Construction Project Manager to aid ICON’s growth by leading the design and construction of revolutionary office spaces, R&D facilities, robotics factories, and concrete batch plants. This individual will work as a member of the Physical Infrastructure team and will work with ICON executives, internal clients, architects, contractors, and city inspectors/administrators. This individual must be able to manage a full construction project, including: budgeting, plans, bidding, scheduling, quality control, inspections, and completion. Most importantly, the ideal applicant will be an enthusiastic member of a dynamic startup team, which is developing revolutionary automated construction technology to serve humanity. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and will report to the Senior Manager, Physical Infrastructure. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

PRE-CONSTRUCTION

  • Facilitate communication, including coordination between ICON, architects, engineers, estimators, landlords, and city permitting.
  • Interface with ICON stakeholders to document requirements for new construction.
  • Coordinate architects and engineers to develop construction drawings for bid, develop detailed scope of work to send to subs for bid.
  • Obtain and organize bids from contractors, lead value engineering, and award construction contracts.

CONSTRUCTION

  • Own project schedules while actively working to compress project timelines.
  • Keep projects on-budget and on-track with timelines.
  • Be the primary ICON point of contact for third party Architects, Engineers, and other consultants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience in construction project management.
  • Experience managing construction projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A proven track record of organization and orderliness.
  • Ability to prioritize and stay cool in a dynamic start-up environment.
