Position:  Communications Intern; Preferred location: Ames, IA remote candidates also considered

 Summer Internship May - August 2023 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated undergraduate student interested in gaining valuable experience supporting internal and external business communications strategies. This role will work with the communications team on a variety of projects including government & public affairs, public relations, social media, and employee communications. Candidate must be a strong writer, detail oriented, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities: 

In this role, an intern will: 

• Source and draft a variety of written articles for our employee intranet, internal channels, and curate a weekly employee newsletter
• Support our annual employee survey project by developing content for a PowerPoint presentation to communicate key findings and opportunities with employees  
• Audit internal channels and create a dashboard for measuring impact, tracking activity, and sharing monthly reports
• Other communications and content development duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience: 

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or higher degree in communications, journalism, business, PR, marketing, or related field
• Experience with MS Office products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to self-manage projects and execute on assigned responsibilities
