The Commodity Manager Indirect Procurement is responsible for strategic sourcing, long term planning and the contracting of goods and services.The Commodity Manager is responsible for supplier negotiations, quality control around supplier performance, project planning and execution, and working as part of a cross-functional project team.This position will participate in the preparation of RFIs and RFPs as part of the execution of annual strategy within responsible indirect category(s)What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
Work with identified cross functional team members to develop and execute category or procurement sourcing strategies.Master and execute procurement activities utilizing FLUENCE procurement COUPA platformAnalyze and identify opportunities to drive cost saving project using business analytics capabilitiesActively support a healthy supplier portfolio, seek out new supplier relationships, monitor existing relationships, proactively participate in problem resolution and schedule site visits with key suppliers as deemed appropriate.Proactively collaborate with internal departments and assist in identifying needs.Influence FLUENCE employees on policies and practices for procurement, as well as the legal and financial requirements and policies in making a purchase.Manage and create an environment of strategic collaboration with FLUENCEs preferred partners.Solicit quotes, negotiate pricing and schedules, specify and confirm materials for any goods required and monitor deadlines and shipping requirements.Lead and assist with complex, RFP's (Requests for Proposals) using COUPA sourcing moduleSupport team engagement activities to foster and maintain a high performance team environmentWhat will the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Business-Related field from an accredited university or college8-10 year(s) of experience as a commodity manager in a commercial setting, with prior experience dealing with both goods and service providers, as well as service contracts OR 2 years of other supply chain experience3-5 years of SAP/ ARIBA/ COUPA/ ZYCUS or similar ERP system3-5 years of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
