About the company:
Archer is an aerospace company based in Palo Alto, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do:
- We are working to build a world class team of lawyers and legal professionals who will be strategic partners with the business. We seek applicants who will build and thrive in our culture: team-oriented, collegial, non-hierarchical, diverse perspectives, productive, and adaptable.
- The position will work closely with the CLO, Deputy General Counsel and business stakeholders at all levels of the company to define and drive strategic and operational initiatives with on-time and on-budget results, such as:
- Structure, negotiate, draft, and discuss commercial transactions and intellectual property (IP) licenses/agreements on a daily basis.
- Advise on commercial issues across all business functions across the company, including operations, engineering, sales, marketing, finance, tax, and compliance.
- Advise customers on risks, agreement structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures, and IP and business strategies.
- Support the continuous improvement and scale of standard form agreements, legal processes, agreement processes, and company policies.
- This role will be working on cutting-edge legal issues in a fast-paced environment, so we are seeking ambitious candidates who are interested in working hard, moving fast, and playing a significant role in the development of a world class Legal Team.
Minimum qualifications:
- JD or equivalent degree.
- 5+ years of experience structuring, drafting, and discussing a range of commercial agreements (e.g., intellectual property licensing, development, supply, services and marketing agreements).
- Admitted to bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the role is located.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience successfully performing in high-pressure environments.
- Ability to work comfortably and be conversational across different business functions (e.g., product, engineering, supply chain, marketing, finance, compliance, HR) and lines of business.
- Ability to support direct discussion with legal and business representatives of contracting parties.
