We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer to lead Inspire’s Technology team. Your work will ultimately empower our customers to reduce their carbon footprint and further Inspire's mission to accelerate the world’s transition to a net-zero carbon future. The primary mission of your role is to provide sound technical leadership and short- and long-term strategy and execution planning across the business, while also leading and scaling our application engineering, data engineering, product and IT organizations. An essential component of this role is driving technical innovation while communicating with stakeholders to ensure technologies are being scaled and utilized appropriately. 
The CTO has the executive responsibility for managing the physical and personnel technology infrastructure at Inspire. This includes technological strategy and deployment, integration testing, network and system management, and developing technical operations personnel. 
How you’ll help: 
  • Create robust, reliable, and scalable technology infrastructure and roadmap to deliver against an ambitious multi-year growth strategy
  • Lead the technology department on prioritization, balancing short and long-term goals and investments from a financial and people perspective; clearly communicate the status to the executive team and other key stakeholders while exposing risks and trade-offs
  • Significantly contribute to scaling the business and maintain a keen focus on driving financial results and positive customer experience
  • Be a vocal and inspirational leader with both internal and external stakeholders; advocate for employee participation and engagement in our mission, while emphasizing retention through active mentoring, coaching, succession planning
  • Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics, and make recommendations that align with business goals
  • Manage all technology and IT components, budgets, and roadmaps, including the definition of company standards for systems, equipment, and software
  • Empower the technology team to and its partners to lead with innovation, creativity, agility, and prioritization
  • Actively develop and nurture relationships across the business to strengthen cross-departmental collaboration
Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:
  • Non-negotiables:
    • 12+ years of technical leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of leading sophisticated engineering initiatives and developing large scale applications
    • 5+ years of engineering management experience in a high-performing environment, with a keen focus on development of technological leadership across a department
    • Expert-level knowledge of web systems architecture, design and development
    • Strong experience in online architecture development, including both front-end and back-end development and deployment
    • Proven success building high-performing technical teams and working with rapid growth and change implementation
    • Track-record of strategic thinking and effective communication; you offer expertise in technical development and demonstrated ability to implement and execute organizationally.
