Your role and your team: 

In this position you will report directly to the Chief Engineer and will be responsible for the technical integration and execution of the entire Flight Mechanics / Flight sciences program. 

Within our Chief Engineering office, you will lead and execute aircraft development in the Flight Mechanics, Performance, Handling Qualities, Flight Control and Simulation areas. Ideally you will also contribute to the areas of Acoustics and Propulsion. You will collaborate with the entire engineering and manufacturing team on technical strategy, requirements, solution development, integration, verification, and certification of the aircraft. 

Your Day to Day  

  • Ensuring that aircraft requirements regarding flight performance, flight controls, handling qualities and simulation are verifiable and validated and lead to a certifiable design.  
  • Planning, coordinating, and running the integration and verification of the aircraft program including technology demonstrations CFD, wind tunnel tests and simulation through to the flight test campaign of multiple aircraft. 
  • Oversee the Flight Test strategy and Flight Test program requirements, lead analysis of results to support certification. 
  • Ensuring that detailed item, system, and aircraft designs are defined and integrated into a certifiable aircraft configuration that best meets project requirements of unit cost, performance, safety, and maintainability. 
  • Develop and coordinate a team of engineers to ensure the delivery of the programFrom within Chief Engineering, work closely with the Integrated Project Teams and our program office. 
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship throughout the Flight sciences program and help resolve technical problems that would affect safety, schedule, performance, and cost.  

  Your profile: 

  • Master's Degree or PhD in Aeronautics, Physics, Electrical / Mechanical Engineering 
  • Proven track record within Aviation industry with a min of 10+ years' experience in Chief Engineering Office, or related system engineering position required. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing aspects of aircraft flight mechanics / flight sciences in an Engineering Lifecycle from Requirements definition to Production.  
  • Thorough knowledge of capabilities and limitations of CFD and wind Tunnels, detailed experience of air vehicle certification 
  • Experience in leading multidiscipline teams 
  • Strong motivation to help build and shape your organizationstructures, and processes.
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously.
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, Fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
