About this Role
We’re looking for a Category Manager to join Apeel’s growing Sales team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting sales growth and profitability for the business to drive sustainable growth. You’ll help to increase demand for our products with our retail customers. The Category manager must have extensive experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment. They must have a commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles.
This position will report to the VP Sales EMEA and will be based in remote in Spain. This position will have up to a 30% travel requirement to customer sites and retail locations domestically and internationally. We’re looking for someone to join our team immediately.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
- Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
- Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
- Foster relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services
- Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility
- Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category
- Collaborate with Retail Category Managers, Buyers, Quality Controllers and Merchandisers to expand product categories
- Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
- Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field
- At least 5+ years of experience as a Category Manager or similar role
- Experienced in data analysis and forecasting methods
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Must have the skills to create reports, presentations and manage complex spreadsheets
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in fruits or vegetables or other agriculture focused industries
