We are currently seeking a Blanking Line Team Leader, Stamping. In this role, you'll be integral to the precision manufacturing of metal products. The successful candidates will have spent considerable time working hard Laser Blanking line. They will have experience with Laser Blanker for an OEM. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. You’ll safely operate and maintain cutting-edge laser machinery, ensuring world class quality while working in a collaborative, safety-focused environment. You will: 

  • Plan and Operate laser cutting machinery for precision manufacturing of blanks. 
  • Select and configure proper cutting programs and fixtures. 
  • Ability to utilize Siemens HMI screens to perform diagnostics and resolve machine faults. 
  • Lead/execute automatic coil changes and setting up the laser blanking line for new jobs. 
  • Set up and monitor machine performance to ensure quality and productivity. 
  • Identify and report defective materials or operational issues to the supervisor. 
  • Lead to continuous improvement efforts by identifying potential process improvements. 
  • Lead/collaborate with team members to meet production goals and timelines. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot Laser Blanking lines throughout the plant 
  • Experience working with Aluminum sheet metal and class-A surface parts for blanker 
  • Willingness to assist in ensuring 6-S standards of housekeeping are maintained in Blanker area 
  • Assists in ensuring safety standards and compliance with work rules are consistently followed throughout Blanking line 
  • Report safety issues immediately to direct report 
  • Report on production output, efficiency, scrap rates, and other key performance indicators to shop management. 
  • Train and support the team members to develop their operational skills 
  • Suggest and implement continuous improvement initiatives 

You Bring:  

  • High school diploma: additional education or apprenticeship is a plus.
  • 7+ years of stamping manufacturing experience, preferably with laser blanking operations. 
  • Familiarity with operating, setting up, and adjusting laser cutting machines and understanding optimal cutting conditions.  
  • Have leadership experience in Stamping production area 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience with safety practices and machine maintenance. 
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and processes as well as how to program laser cutting paths.   
  • Ability to adapt and troubleshoot in real-time to address production needs. 
  • Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness, and quality system awareness. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills.   
  • Basic computer proficiency for tasks such as data entry and potentially operating manufacturing software.  

  

Work Environment: 

  • Exposure to mechanical equipment, vibration, and noise. 
  • Physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. 
  • Eye-hand coordination and strong visual abilities are essential.
