This position will be within the Fluence Digital business unit, formed following Fluence’s acquisition of San Francisco-based start-up AMS. Fluence Digital’s IQ platform uses artificial intelligence, advanced price forecasting, portfolio optimization and market bidding to ensure energy storage and flexible generation assets are optimally participating in wholesale electricity markets.

The Bidding Performance Manager will be an integral member of the Fluence Digital team, supporting delivery teams and customers with subject matter expertise and expert analytical advice regarding the performance of bidding strategies at Fluence Digital’s energy storage customers.

The Bidding Performance Manager will develop subject matter expertise in the use of Fluence’s bidding tools and strategies, and will promote overall customer success and satisfaction by developing an analytical capability to provide customers with recommended bid strategy settings and periodic changes, to help customers maximise the value they get from use of Fluence’s software.
The Bidding Performance Manager is an analytical role with customer-facing elements - the Bidding Performance Manager will have opportunities to present analysis and recommendations directly to customers, and to measure the impact of those recommendations. The role will also have opportunities to support the Sales and Marketing Teams with periodic public thought leadership activities.

The role will be based in Fluence Digital’s Melbourne offices (remote candidates will be considered) and will report to the Australian Director of Solutions Engineering, with close interaction with the Product Management, Data Science, Customer Success, and Customer Support teams. The role will grow over time as Fluence scales its SaaS products to new customers, types of energy assets, and markets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop analytical tools, frameworks, and processes for analysing the effectiveness of Fluence’s bidding strategies and configurable parameters
  • Provide data-driven bidding strategy enhancement recommendations to customers, to drive improved asset revenue outcomes
  • Maximise the value that Fluence software delivers to customers by maximizing asset and portfolio profitability
  • Capture customer commercial objectives, and help customers leverage the Bidding Application’s features to effectively meet those objectives
  • Support delivery teams with reporting, analytical customer support, and initiatives in support of overall customer satisfaction
  • Assist delivery teams with responses to escalated or complex Customer Support inquiries relating to bidding strategy, bid quality, and what-if analysis
  • Provide feedback to the Product Management team in relation to potential new-feature development and product enhancements by serving as a market SME and a “voice of the customer”
  • Support the Marketing and Sales teams with periodic public thought leadership activities, including periodic articles and conference presentations
  • Responsibilities

  • 8 or more years of work experience
  • SaaS company experience, and experience with business / enterprise customers, preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of the National Electricity Market, including trading in physical markets and bidding systems
  • Experience and knowledge of BESS capabilities and value streams
  • Strong analytics skills
  • Experience handing large data sets
  • Experience with data visualization tools e.g. Looker, Power BI
  • Proficiency with SQL, Excel and analytics tools (e.g. R, Python, SAS, PLEXOS or other price forecasting tools)
  • Eagernesstoworkincollaborative,dynamic,andteam-basedenvironments
  • Willingness to learn quickly on-the-job across a range of technical subject matters
