This internship is a part of a 10-week full-time summer internship program opportunity. This role will be based at Archer’s headquarters in San Jose, California and relocation or housing will not be provided.
Archer is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join Archer. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience within the HV Power Systems Manufacturing Design Engineering team. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced engineering team, gaining exposure to various aspects of the engineering process.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in the design and build of fixtures and manufacturing equipment for Battery Pack Manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with Product Design team to provide DFM feedback
- Support new equipment installation, commissioning and launch
- Support with Battery Pack Prototype Builds
- Create detailed documentation for handoff to the build team
- Write Manufacturing Work instructions for the build team
- Troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise
- Assist with data analysis, algorithm development and visualization for process development
What You Need:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to engineering, manufacturing, mechatronics engineering, mechanical design engineering or industrial engineering at an accredited university, preferably a Junior going in to your Senior year
- Strong Interest in equipment and machine design
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment
- Results focused
- Aligned with Archer’s core values
Bonus Qualifications:
- Formula SAE team member or personal projects are a plus
- Knowledge of Google suite applications
- Knowledge or Past projects/internships in Machine Vision (preferably Keyence) or PLC Programming (Allen-Bradley/Siemens/Beckhoff)
- Battery/EV/eVTOL knowledge or experience
- Experience with a programming language preferably Python
- Experience in data analysis/MathLab/PowerBI
