Perfect Day was founded in 2014 to create delicious, nutritious dairy products that everyone can love. We’re using fermentation (not animals) to make dairy proteins that are the foundation for foods like ice cream, cheese and yogurt – all with the distinctive taste and textures that consumers demand, but without lactose or environmental downsides. Through partnerships with respected brands, we’re working to launch a whole range of dairy products that will help shape a humane, sustainable food system for future generations. 

1.       Oversees and directs the activities of a scientific group in the research and/or development of an

organization's products, projects and programs.

2.       Initiates, directs and executes all scientific research and/or development strategies in research

and/or development. 

3.       Supporting the pilot scale execution of research work carried at R&D facility.

4.       Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to

potential inventions, products and problems. 

5.       May develop budgets for capital expenditures and labor. 

6.       Maintains broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.  

7.       Interfaces with department members and the Manager to serve as internal consultant.  

8.       Responsible for facility and shift management. Supervise and mentor scientists.

9.       Provide operational support on multiple projects with a core role in providing expertise in

fermentation process development activities. Ability to troubleshoot problems

10.   Designs process plans and outlines the experimental structure. Preparation and review of SOP’s and

BMR.

11.   Preparing and validating the process protocol for the prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems (E. coli,

 Bacillus sp. and Fungal sp.).

12.   Identify, design, implement and manage experimental development programmes needed to

develop, evaluate and characterise new processes for target molecules.

13.   Analyse and troubleshoot scientific issues in a timely manner.

14.   Coordinate and plan production priorities, work flow and schedule.

15.   Actively involved in the statistical design, execution, analysis, and troubleshooting of process scale-

up activities. To handle continuous verification of process, deviation, out-of-specifications and root

cause investigations.

16.   Maintain environmental awareness and follow hygiene and environmental procedures.

17.   To co-ordinate work with other functions/departments to achieve project objectives.

1.       Mentor junior subordinates on research techniques and professional development.

2.       Develop productive working relationships with other members of staff.

3.       Expertise in developing protocols, reports and SOP’s.

4.       Ensure proper documentation of research conducted in the lab.

1.       Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and

independent thought. 

2.       Works on problems of moderate scope in which analysis of situation or data requires a review of

identifiable factors. 

3.       Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

1.       Should have good communication skills.

2.       Should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

3.       Should have experience in analysing and documenting scientific data.
