Lucid is looking for an experienced intellectual property attorney and leader to join our legal team. This role will support Lucid’s business leaders and stakeholders in the management and strategic use of a growing intellectual property portfolio and will be a key member of the legal leadership team.

The Role
Develop and implement a comprehensive intellectual property program for patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and other intellectual and industrial property rightsAdvise on, and develop strategy for, use and licensing of intellectual and industrial property rightsEvaluate inventions to determine patentability and draft, file, and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO and foreign counterpartsManage the company’s growing IP portfolioDraft, negotiate, interpret, and advise clients on IP-related agreements and IP provisions in commercial agreementsProvide leadership for IP enforcement, defense, validity and other disputesWork seamlessly and collaboratively within the legal team and as a legal business partner to multiple internal business stakeholdersQualifications
Minimum of 10 years of substantive intellectual property experience with a corporate legal department or law firmExperience in preparation and prosecution of patent applications is a basic requirementMember of Patent Bar and technical degree or relevant technical experience are strongly preferredExcellent communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to effectively relay complex information in a concise formatPractical business judgmentDemonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projectsProven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively, being resourceful, and taking on additional responsibilityLaw degree (J.D.) from ABA-accredited institutionEligible to practice law in California
