Role
Manage system, subsystem, and component information in the Enovia PLM and CATIA 3DX environment.Will also own a portion of the Interior Engineering department’s Bill of Materials.Interface with suppliers, vendors, and other support teams to ensure up-to-date and quality data is distributed internally and externally. This includes supporting the development and implementation of rules for exchanging data with external suppliers.Support the development of best practices for design and engineering, particularly as they should be applied in the CATIA 3DX environment. Collaborate with other design engineers, CAD engineers, and the engineering tools team for this advancement.Work with affected teams to understand the critical actions necessary for successful introduction of new features, capabilities, and products, and ensure the 3D BOM is accurate to engineering expectations.Coordinate and effectively run meetings to update stakeholders on CAD and BOM status and newly implemented changes. With support of design engineers, track Engineer Change Requests and their associated data as they progress through release.Be a champion of good, fundamental design in the interior system and across the vehicle.Assist design and testing engineers through project managing fabrication of prototypes, testing and shipping logistics, and purchase order progress.Understand product and part design and the impact of design changes and relevant geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.Qualifications
2 or more years of professional experience with a CAD design software, with a preference for CATIA V6/3DExperienceProfessional experience in automotive or complex manufactured products that involve a BOM with variantsExperience with CAD/PDM/PLM Data management principles including lifecycle states and rules, data linkages, model-based definition (e.g., “CAD the Master”) and CAD qualityProven track record of the design change process and CAD data management toolsAdvantageous
Possess knowledge and experience across multiple functions within product design and manufacturing, preferably of the automotive interior environmentPractical work with CAD quality management tools (e.g., Q-Checker, i-Check, custom)Experience in interior process, such as wrapping, injection molding, painting, compression molding, tool design, etc. Creativity within complex 3D virtual package environmentStrong attention to detailPossesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company.Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering / technical project management discipline
