About the Role

The Assistant Farm Systems Install Manager will lead a team of Deployment Technicians to install, test, and upgrade Square Roots farms across the country. They will be responsible for ensuring that specialty growing equipment is built on time and to specification. They will also lead the charge on installing and testing the growing equipment during new farm construction, verifying that everything is performing correctly before handing the keys over to the local Farm Management Team. This person will additionally manage on-site efforts for existing facility upgrades and may be called upon to support major troubleshooting across campuses. They will report to the Farm Systems Integration Manager and play a central role in managing the Deployment Team.

You will: 

• Lead the install of specialty growing equipment designed in-house by our engineering team.
• Supervise a team of install technicians to install, calibrate, and test growing equipment during the construction of new farms. 
• Assist in  the troubleshooting process of hardware issues during new farm commissioning, working closely with the Farm Management and Hardware teams.
• Support in inventory management of tools, equipment and materials.
• Support in logistics in getting people and materials to job sites
• Work closely with the construction and farming operations departments to ensure a smooth transition from construction to farm production.
• Travel frequently to be on-site during new farm deployments (up to 70%).

You have experience with:

• Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, especially in the context of indoor farming.
• Reading technical specifications including wiring diagrams, facility blueprints, and manuals to build equipment.
• Knowledge of various tools and machinery for manufacturing commercial scale equipment.
• Leading a small team to execute a number of projects in parallel including daily/weekly task management

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy:

New employees are required to be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. The definition of fully vaccinated includes a booster for those that are eligible.

• You have received a full series of the vaccine recently (meaning 2 doses within 5 months for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, or 1 dose within 2 months for Johnson and Johnson). 
• You received your full series over 5 months ago for Pfizer and Moderna or over 2 months ago for Johnson and Johnson, and have also received a booster shot. 

Proof of vaccination is required during the hiring process, and employees will be required to get booster shots as they become eligible to maintain their fully-vaccinated status.  

As federal guidance on booster shots evolves, the definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ may change.
