About the company:

Revolutionising urban air mobility and electrifying air travel

Join the Aircraft Systems Integration team based in Bristol as an Advanced Aircraft Safety Engineer and help us to achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation.

What success will look like for you, as an Advanced Aircraft Safety Engineer?

As an Aircraft Safety Engineer you will be responsible for safety analyses (Functional Hazard Assessments, Safety Assessments, Common Cause Analysis etc) and deliverables at aircraft and at system level, as well as helping to guide the strategy for safety. You will also be integrating outputs of safety assessment and systems engineering methods as well as contributing to ongoing iterative design trade-offs, proving safety analyses of novel and complex systems and presenting safety analysis methods and results to the authorities.

You will be working closely with the aircraft level and the system level safety teams as well as a variety of engineering teams, both in-house and external suppliers. Additionally, you will be supporting the organisational safety team in core safety strategies for experimental and certification programmes.

You will report directly into the Systems Integration Manager and be a key member of the systems integration team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities.

What would we like you to bring.

We want you to be successful in your role and in order to achieve this, you will need to have proven experience in aircraft systems safety assessment methods and tools (at both aircraft and system level) and a broad knowledge and understanding of aircraft systems, both conventional and novel. Additionally, you will have implemented safety strategies for both conventional and developmental programmes and have previously used fault tree analysis tools, such as reliability workbench/FT+, ANSYS etc. Understanding and utilisation of ARP4761A and ARP4754B will be beneficial. Ideally you will have gained this experience from the Aerospace sector. The successful candidate should demonstrate a profound passion for innovation and a drive for creating something new.
