Your Role and your Team:

We are looking for an outstanding flight Aircraft Performance Engineer with solid experience to join our innovative team to help us shape the future of urban e-mobility.

In this position, you will have the exciting opportunity to work in our rapidly growing Flight Physics and Applied Sciences Team. You will report to the Aircraft Performance Team Leader and will work closely with Aerodynamics, Flight Simulation, Handling Qualities, Flight Control Laws, Operations, Commercial and Flight-Testing departments.

Your Day to Day:

  • Thoroughly understanding the flight physics of our unique configuration to derive performance targets and means of compliance for certification.
  • Taking an active role in developing our flight performance simulation environment for engineering, AFM/AOM and FMS analyses.
  • Working closely with the Propulsion and Energy Supply teams optimizing engine/airframe performance modelling.
  • Working closely with the Commercial and Operations teams, to support development of new operational scenarios and markets.
  • Supporting Performance development and certification flight test campaigns.
  • Being part of multidisciplinary efforts to support the specification, development and approval of aircraft systems.
  • Authoring engineering development and certification reports.
  • Actively help shaping processes within the department.

Your Profile:

  • M.Sc./M.Eng. or PhD in Aerospace Engineering and related fields is required.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in aircraft performance development, testing and certification under CS.23/25 and/or CS.27/29 – handling qualities experience is a plus.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in supporting operations of aircraft, with focus on performance optimization.
  • Experienced with AFM, AOM and Performance data for FMS development and approval.
  • Clear communicator and team player.
  • High level of self-reliance and an autonomous target-oriented work style is a must.
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, Fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
