What you’ll do:
- Operate as the Aerodynamics team’s primary point of contact for flight test activities
- Develop tools to analyze and process flight test data
- Collaborate with the Flight Test organization to plan and execute flight test events to collect data to validate aerodynamic models as well as vehicle performance and requirements
- Perform in-depth analysis of flight test data in order to meet analysis objectives
- Process and analyze flight test data and compare with predictions. Generate test reports to document findings and recommendations
- Leverage experimental data to improve aerodynamic models of the vehicle
- Support aircraft-level requirements verification process through flight test
What you need:
- BS / MS / PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- 4+ years of experience with BS, or 3+ years of experience with MS, or 1+ years of experience with PhD in flight testing fixed-wing aircraft and/or rotorcraft, tiltrotor, eVTOL
- Strong understanding of fixed-wing and rotorcraft aerodynamics, performance, stability & control
- Experience with flight test planning, instrumentation, executing, and data reduction techniques to collect aerodynamics data for design verification purposes, including system identification
- Experience with vehicle aerodynamic design, analysis, and testing techniques on fixed-wing aircraft and/or rotorcraft, tiltrotor, eVTOL
- Familiarity in Python programming (strongly preferred) or Matlab/Simulink programming coding experience
- Experience with data reduction and statical analysis techniques
- Excellent work planning and issue resolution skills
- Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in groups and individually
- Experience in a fast-paced design environment
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with wind tunnel testing and data processing of rotorcraft, tiltrotor, eVTOL
- Experience with gradient-based and gradient-free optimization techniques
- Experience with surrogate modeling techniques (like Gaussian process)
- Experience developing and expanding AFM performance charts as a function of weight, altitude and temperature
- Familiarity with conventional airplane Part 23/25 or rotorcraft Part 27/29 certification basis and test methods
- Experience processing and showing aerodynamic data for FAA compliance
- Direct experience working with regulatory agencies related to Subpart B Flight compliance (e.g., FAA Parts 23/25/27/29)
- Experience developing complex Static Source Error Corrections (SSEC)
- Familiarity with software development, object-oriented, version control best practices, as well as Git, CICD, Conda
- Familiarity with Curtiss Wright IADS
- Familiarity with ASTM standards for fixed wing aircraft and ADS-33 for rotorcraft

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $150,000 - $190,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
