Your role and your team:

We are looking for an outstanding Aeroacoustics Engineer with aircraft design, certification and research experience to join our innovative team and shape the future of urban e-mobility.

You will report directly to the Head of Acoustics and Propulsion Aerodynamics and will contribute, as part of the multi-disciplinary Propulsion Integrated Project Team to the development, certification and delivery of the Lilium Jet.

Your Day to Day:

  • Take a leading role in the design and development of the Lilium jet with a focus on community noise reduction and aircraft noise certification.
  • Define and execute system and sub-system validation and verification campaigns to ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of duct acoustics and turbomachinery aeroacoustics to drive product development and maturation of noise reduction technology.
  • Define and implement experimental methods to compliment numerical analyses and accelerate insight into noise generation mechanisms.
  • Work closely with related teams and disciplines to ensure multidisciplinary integration of aerodynamic and acoustic designs into the Lilium jet.
  • Strengthen team efficiency through process improvement.

Your Profile:  

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of professional experience in aircraft noise including defining and executing validation and verification campaigns.
  • Proven track record in diagnosis of aircraft noise and design of technology to address those sources.
  • In-depth knowledge of measurement techniques and uncertainty quantification applicable to acoustic measurements in anechoic chambers, wind tunnels and flight tests.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in noise prediction and simulation.
  • Clear communicator and team player.
  • High level of self-reliance and an autonomous target-oriented work style is a must.
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem solving skills required.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
