Advanced Modelling and Simulation Engineer

Join the Aircraft Simulation team based in Bristol as an Advanced Simulation Engineer and help us to achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation.

What will you be doing?

As an Advanced Simulation Engineer you will be responsible for the modelling and simulation of aircraft subsystems and their integration to a novel EVTOL simulation model. As part of your role you will also develop simulation synthetic environments and physical system integration.

You will be working closely with a variety of engineering teams, both in-house and external suppliers. You will also participate in the requirements capture, implementation and develop tools and techniques for the supporting utilities and user interfaces.

You will report directly into the Aircraft Simulation IPT Lead and be a key member of the simulation team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities.

What would we like you to bring.

We want you to be successful in your role, in order to achieve this you will need to have proven experience in modelling/simulation and integration in any of the following areas: electrical powertrain systems, flight control and avionic system models, rotorcraft/VTOL and fixed wing aeromechanics and flight dynamics or actuation and mechanical systems.

Additionally, you will need knowledge in the development of simulation synthetic environments and physical system integration in any of these areas: simulator cockpit systems such as inceptors, displays and switches, image generation systems, cockpit displays software and aural cueing techniques, hardware in the loop real-time simulation models and architectures. Ideally you will have some knowledge of MATLAB SIMULINK software, programming languages eg C/C++ or simulation/synthetic software.
