Advanced Design Engineer - Airframe

Join the Airframes Design Team based in Bristol as an Advanced Design Engineer and help us to achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation

We're looking for an Advanced Design Engineer that thrives on working on carbon-free, new and novel engineering concepts. You will join a team of highly motivated people that are passionate about creating robust designs using the latest technology to find optimised results.

Your Key Responsibilities as a Advanced Design Engineer

• Working across our Airframe Fuselage, Pylon, and Wing teams to create mass and function optimised certifiable solutions, meeting challenging requirements.

• Design of composite and metallic structures using Catia/3Dx from initial schemes through to production. 

• Generation of design data for manufacture of parts and build of assemblies.

• You'll conduct multi-disciplinary design reviews throughout the different phases of aircraft development

• Provide design support to aircraft build process, providing timely and pragmatic responses to queries

• Create test plans and reports in support of requirements verification

What we'd like you to bring

• Proven capability of carrying out design of composite and metallic structures

• Understanding of Key characteristics and tolerances

• Understanding of interchangeability of aircraft parts

• A good understanding of certification of aircraft structure and proof of Means of Compliance would be preferable.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with a wide range of disciplines within engineering.

• IT skills and experience of Catia and 3D Experience
