Advanced Cell Engineer

What success will look like for you, as an Advanced Cell Engineer?

As an Advanced Cell Engineer, you will be responsible developing our strategy for commercial lithium ion cell ageing qualification, for both first life and second life applications. You will do this by defining beginning and end of life cell conditions alongside our modelling team, writing test plans  and working with test engineers and technicians to communicate test requirements, as well as analysing data, reporting progress and deep-diving into all ageing data to generate insights into key ageing sensitivities for our cell. We will need you to bring excellent communication skills, as you'll be  working closely with the wider electrochemistry and modelling teams, as well as industrial and academic partners on test and analysis activities, and test and facility teams to support testing.

You will report directly into the Electrochemistry Lead and be a key member of the Battery Design team which sits within the broader Powertrain team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities

What would we like you to bring.

We want you to be successful in your role, in order to achieve this, you will need to have at-least 1-2 years working with commercial lithium-ion cells and a strong electrochemistry base and understanding of lithium ion cell function, including performance/design trade offs for different applications. We'll also need you to have experience in lithium ion cell ageing experimental test design and optimisation, visualisation of lithium ion cell cycling and storage ageing data and strong knowledge of lithium ion cell degradation mechanisms and common sensitivities to stress factors, including those that apply to different chemistries.
