About the company:
As an Advanced Actuation Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the development, integration and verification of the Control Surface Actuation systems on our demonstrator & production aircraft programmes. This pivotal role involves overseeing the system development from concept to certification.
You will assume responsibility for the overall system architecture and design, orchestrating a seamless integration across diverse aircraft disciplines. This multifaceted responsibility requires a comprehensive understanding of aerospace engineering best practices, control systems development, and systems integration.
You will be working closely with a variety of engineering teams, both in-house and external suppliers. You will take technical responsibility for the integrated development and verification through simulation, analysis, and testing (component, rig, ground and flight testing).
You will report to the IPT Lead – Control Surface Actuation and be a key member of the Actuation Systems team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities.
We want you to be successful in your role and so in order to achieve this, you will need to have proven experience in leading the development and integration of complex control systems, closely interlinked with other systems, particularly within time-critical programs. You will have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and thrive in a complex aircraft development environment, where managing multiple priorities concurrently is the norm. Experience of working in a highly regulated environment on safety critical systems is essential.
A spectrum of technical competencies is required, including expertise in Requirement Management, Management of Technical Risk, Validation & Verification processes, and a demonstrable ability to drive system development. Ideally you will have gained this experience from either Aerospace or other highly regulated sectors ie. nuclear, robotics, medical, automotive etc.
