Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Role

SPAN develops products that accelerate the rapid adoption of renewable energy in the home. The
flagship SPAN Smart Panel is the first true evolution for the traditional home electric panel, harnessing
enhanced technology for metering, monitoring, and control. An expanded product suite of intelligent,
integrated solutions radically lowers the cost and complexity of energy upgrades–including solar, batteries
and EVs–empowering homeowners to be active, resilient and informed players in the energy market.
We are looking for an AR Specialist to support our business functions. In this role, you will:
- Generate and send invoices to customers in a timely manner
- Manage the weekly AR aging report for overdue payments
- Manage collections of overdue payments
- Work cross-functionally with the sales and deployments teams for customer change orders, credit memos,
and collecting overdue payments
- Accurately record payments into our accounting system
- Assist the team in credit soft checks for potential customers
- Assist with monthly and quarterly closes
- Analyze workflow processes and help develop the control environment for receivables
- Continuously make process improvements in the AR process

About You

Required Qualifications -
- 2+ years of experience previous accounts receivable experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- A self-starter attitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and take ownership of deliverables and deadlines
- Positive attitude with the ability to work cross-functionally and be a team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Desire to work in a start-up environment with changing priorities

Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with web-based tools like QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.
- Understanding of internal control procedures
- Up-to-date on current accounting trends
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting
