Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the accounting team and support our financial reporting activities. The candidate will have a knack for coding expenses for multiple projects. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and will report to the Controller on ICON’s Finance team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Code vendor charges accurately to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports.
• Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges to the invoice and investigate discrepancies.
• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Establish vendor relationships and oversee vendor setup (i.e. collect W9, banking information, insurance - if applicable, master agreement, and other pertinent information).
• Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
• Issue stop payments or purchase order amendments.
• Ensure credits are received for outstanding memos.
• Report on sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
• Assist in building the accounts payable processes to scale with the business.
• Participate in a wide variety of special projects and perform ad hoc projects as necessary.
• Assist with annual financial statement audits; interact with outside auditors to support the year-end audit process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years experience in accounts payable.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, construction, and/or technology domain.
• High tolerance for ambiguity and a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
  

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience with Sage Intacct ERP.
• Ability to work in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe.
• Prior start-up experience a plus.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with our team and vendors.
