What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking an outstanding Senior Director, Total Rewards to join our dynamic People team.

This person will join a talented and collaborative people team. This role will have a tremendous opportunity to partner with ChargePoint’s people team, leaders and employees to positively impact and influence ChargePoint’s inclusive and dynamic culture.

The Senior Director, Total Rewards will be responsible for the global design, build and execution of ChargePoint's total reward's philosophy, strategy, policies, structure, practices, administration, and messaging that aligns with our company and people objectives and culture.  This role will create global compensation and benefits infrastructure and programs to support and reinforce the attraction, retention, and recognition of ChargePoint’s team members worldwide; circa 1,800 headcount across 20+ countries. 

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Effectively design, implement, and manage ChargePoint’s compensation strategy, philosophy, programs, policies, and initiatives to position the company to attract and retain our talent.
  • Responsible for the innovative strategy, design, development, and implementation of differentiated market-competitive total compensation: base pay, incentive compensation, equity compensation, sales compensation plans, non-executive, and executive compensation programs.
  • Oversee the preparation of materials for Compensation Committee meetings in partnership with CHRO, finance, legal counsel, and/or external consultant on matters related to executive compensation, annual compensation, and Board matters.
  • Oversight of all investment or retirement equity administration, including ChargePoint’s 401K, and work closely with our legal and finance teams to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for the annual total reward cycle, driving efficiencies in process and programs to scale for future growth.
  • Provide expertise and adapt compensation design/approach to align with market trends, business strategy, and ChargePoint’s culture.
  • Oversee and/or complete mergers, acquisitions and/or divestitures and integrations.
  • Manage all activity related to published compensation surveys throughout the year and audit survey output, market trends and competitive pay positions to ensure ChargePoint’s salary plans meet overall company goals and objectives.
  • Research leading practices and trends to perform deep analysis on effectiveness, competitiveness, and fairness of existing compensation-assess our existing compensation for competitiveness with market data and ChargePoint’s total reward's philosophy including pay equity and pay transparency practices.
  • Partner with People Team peers and business leaders to develop ChargePoint’s career framework and compensation structure that guides career succession including evaluating and aligning positions and job levels to market and establishes a course for career progression.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to make recommendations for internal and external offers to attract and retain highly sought-after talent globally at all levels.
  • Ensure ChargePoint’s compensation plans comply with legal and other regulations and manage processes and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies on a global basis.
  • Partner with Finance on equity administration, grant documentation, reporting and transaction processing, and stock issuances for long term incentives.
  • Lead, implement and ensure proper administration of all health and welfare benefit and wellness programs and initiatives ensuring competitive, sustainable, cost-effective plans and programs for ChargePoint.
  • Lead the annual open benefit enrollment process for ChargePoint. Work with vendors to ensure a smooth process for all team members.
  • Establish and manage compensation and benefit related budget, prepare accruals, and provide audit support, as necessary. 
  • Ensure ongoing analysis and evaluation of services, coverage, and options available through insurance and investment companies to ensure programs best meet the needs of the organization.
  • Prepare and review annual NDT and 5500 filings and monitor plans for continued compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations including but not limited to the Affordable Care Act/Health Care Reform, ERISA, HIPPA, FMLA, GINA, IRS, DOL, HHS, etc.
  • Responsibility to manage an internal team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years global Total Rewards experience including executive, equity, variable, sales, salary comp and time away, insured and ancillary benefits.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related discipline preferred
  • Experience with equity administration platforms domestically and globally ensuring the integrity of the stock administration system & plan documents.
  • Experience preparing and presenting Compensation Committee materials for quarterly meetings and providing equity pool updates.
  • Must have experience and working knowledge of compensation and benefit survey systems and processes.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including Word, Excel, Office 365, Internet, UltiPro (UKG), TalentComp, Greenhouse or similar software package/HRIS system required. Must be an advanced excel user and have the ability to create and manipulate excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to do data reporting and analytics, develop actionable insights and succinctly communicate to variety of stakeholders to guide decision making.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Assist with quarter and year-end close equity financial reporting including stock-based compensation expense reporting and review of equity related disclosures.
  • Interfacing with Payroll, Accounting, HR, and Legal to ensure smooth operation of all relevant equity compensation programs domestically and globally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication & influencing skills.
  • Must have strong presentation skills.
  • Strong emotional IQ; ability to maintain composure and operate in a strictly confidential manner.
  • Experience in high tech, high growth, post-IPO companies.

The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $182,500 to $276,750. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
